How to Apply a Patch

A patch is a set of differences between two versions of the same file.

Before proceeding with the steps below, run a backup of your system.

  1. Make a backup of your $InstallationHome.
  2. Download and copy the EdgeCore file (edgeCore-x.x.x.zip) to your $InstallationHome.
  3. Change Directory to $InstallationHome/bin.
  4. Run $InstallationHome/bin> ./edge.sh stop.
  5. Change Directory to $InstallationHome.
  6. Run $InstallationHome> unzip edgeCore-x.x.x.zip.
  7. Change Directory to $InstallationHome/bin.
  8. Run $InstallationHome/bin> ./edge.sh version.
  9. Verify the version of the install.
  10. Run $InstallationHome/bin/helpers> ./fix_permissions.sh.
  11. Run $InstallationHome/bin/helpers> ./remove-old.sh (if it exists).
  12. Run $InstallationHome/bin> ./edge.sh start.
  13. Re-install the license (via command line or UI).
  14. Re-install the full backup (via command line or UI).
  15. Run some validation on your system.
