Disabling Action If Conditions Are Not Met

edgeCore 4.3.6 version

Actions configured for a visualization can be displayed regardless of conditions but be greyed out if certain conditions are not met.  When you start adding conditions, you will be able to activate the Always Show Action toggle switch which will display action as disabled when conditions are not met.
Additionally, you can also provide a reason why the action is disabled. The explanation will be shown as a tooltip when a user hovers over the greyed-out action. If no explanation is provided, the tooltip will not be displayed.

Note: If you configure only one action, the action will not be shown upon clicking. You need to have at least 2 actions in order for them to be shown in the menu.
Also, the Tooltip action cannot be disabled.

To configure an action and disable it when conditions are not met, do the following:

  1. Click on a page in the menu bar.
  2. Click the Edit button in the upper right corner to enter the Edit mode.
  3. Click the three dots > Edit Actions.
    A pop-up is displayed.
  4. In the pop-up, click + to add an action.
  5. From Click Row, select any action you want to configure.
Note: You cannot disable the Tooltip action.
For example, we want to configure both the Copy To Clipboard and Show Record Details actions.
  6. Fill out the necessary fields in Base Config depending on the action you selected.
  7. In Conditions, do the following:
    a) Click +Condition to add a condition and to be able to activate the Always Show Action toggle switch which will display action as disabled when conditions are not met.
A field for selecting an attribute is displayed.
    b) Select an attribute to set the condition.
    For example, our condition is: licensed = 0 ;
    c) Enable the Always Show Action toggle switch.
    d) (Optional) Provide a reason why the action is disabled.
The explanation will be shown as a tooltip when a user hovers over the greyed-out action. If no explanation is provided, the tooltip will not be displayed.
  8. Click Save and Close.
The action is displayed in the pop-up.
  9. Add another action and repeat steps 6 and 7.
  10. Save your changes.
  11. Click anywhere on the visualization to see the actions.
The action for which a condition is not met is greyed out, and if you have provided an explanation in step 7, you will see it when you hover over the greyed-out action.

As previously mentioned, if you have only one action, this action will not be shown in the menu. If you have at least two actions (just like in the screenshot above), both of them will be displayed.
