Overview
The edgeCore Server Filesystem adapter allows you to connect to a specific directory on the local server.
A Server Filesystem Connection represents a path to a specific directory on the server’s filesystem. Data from individual files are brought into the system as “feeds”. Files located in the directory specified in the connection’s configuration can be brought in as datasets. The configuration for a Server Filesystem connection has three properties:

| Connection Name | This value is used as a label for this Connection in the Data Pipeline. |
| Description | This is where the administrator can enter notes for the connection. |
| Enabled | This determines whether or not the Connection is enabled.
Disabling a Server Filesystem Connection means that all files in the specified directory are ignored. It also deactivates this connection from a licensing perspective. |
| Server Path | This value assumes a relative path from the installation folder of edgeCore. |
A Server Filesystem Connection allows the following Feed Types. These Feed types allow edgeCore to parse different data formats, and generate tabular data sets which can then be used in Visualizations.

Each feed created from a Server Filesystem Connection will have the following common properties:

| Feed Name | This value is used as a label for this Feed in the Data Pipeline. |
| File Name | You should see a pull-down containing a list of files for the configured directory. Use this pull-down to select a target file.
If you receive the inline error message in place of a pull-down (shown below), it means that edgeSuite did not find any files in the directory specified in the Server Filesystem Connection. You will need to modify the path specified in the Server Filesystem Connection’s configuration, or move the desired file into the directory that is already specified in the Server Filesystem Connection. |
